How can the story of Lord Ram be served in a modern form, this film should have a chance for that. The biggest reason to watch Adipurush movie is its magnificence and VFX. Film students can learn from this. On the other hand, if you plan to watch the film from an emotional angle, then you will be disappointed. Yes, one thing about this movie you can enjoy only on the celluloid screen. The effect of the movie on the computer or mobile screen will be average.

To give it a modern look, director Om Raut has given Ravana’s Lanka a gray castle look that looks like a ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘Game of Thrones’ fort, in contrast to Ravana’s shiny gold . The three-hour running time of the film begins to flourish when in the second half the story is limited to the VFX-embellished Ram-Ravana fight. Although the story looks good with visual effects before the interval. The director has omitted many episodes of Ramayana like Ahilya, Meghnad Vadh. Bali and Sugriva have given him the pure monkey form, while Ravana’s appearance, costume and weapons have been greatly modernized. Ravana is shown riding a vampire-like creature, his weapons reminiscent of ‘Game of Thrones’.

At first the film doesn’t seem to be anything special. You don’t connect with the movie but with the introduction of Hanuman ji, the movie connects a little but not as much as you could connect with the Ramayana serial. None of the characters connect with you the way you expect and the poor VFX spoils the enjoyment of the film. If such graphics were made by spending so many crores, then one wonders how Ramanand Sagar had made such amazing graphics in those times. The way some dialogues are spoken will surprise you. The faith angle has been dropped in the film. The battle scenes look like zombies are fighting. Perhaps an attempt has been made to give the Hollywood touch here, but the Bollywood touch is gone. You just love to hear Shri Ram’s name throughout the movie and nothing else.

Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh’s film ‘Adipurush’ will undoubtedly be compared to Ram stories released earlier in Hindi, especially Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ series and whenever this comparison is made, the first people will notice the obstacle surrounding this film. see, she is Kriti Sanon as Janaki in the movie. Whatever artificial experiments have been done on his face, they have taken away the softness of his face. His lips and nose are sharp. And seeing the beauty of Mithila’s princess, Ram was mesmerized in Pushpa Vatika, Kriti Sanon’s beauty is not even overshadowed. Same is the case with Prabhas. Echoing the voice of Sharad Kelkar in Hindi, he looks like Ram, but in bodybuilding he has neither power like Ram, nor speed like Ram, nor glory like Ram. He looked more like the third version of ‘Bahubali’ throughout the film.

The story of Adipurush is based on the Ramayana. Which we hear from childhood and see in the scenes of Ramlila. In such a situation, what can be new in the film. Om Raut answered this through modern VFX and costumes. The background music of the film is amazing but the VFX is poor. Watching the movie feels like reading comics. Good editing of the film was needed and the second half should have been kept strong. But this film will be remembered for Saif Ali Khan.
