Warner Bros.’ “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” conjured a dominating £7.3 million ($9.6 million) opening weekend in the U.K. and Ireland, easily claiming the top spot at the box office, according to numbers from Comscore.

Ahimsa Entertainment’s Tamil-language film “The Greatest Of All Time” (“GOAT”), starring Vijay, debuted in second place with £768,842.

Sony’s “It Ends With Us” held strong in its fifth week, landing at number three with £668,902, pushing its total to £20.1 million. Disney’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” continued to perform well in its seventh frame, adding £661,592 for a £55.9 million cume.

Rounding out the top five, Disney’s “Alien: Romulus” scared up another £570,708 in its fourth weekend, bringing its total to £12.1 million.

Universal’s “Despicable Me 4” showed staying power in sixth place, collecting £543,555 in its ninth week for a £45.7 million total. Warner Bros.’ “Blink Twice” landed in seventh with £331,425 in its third weekend, accumulating £2.62 million overall.

Disney’s “Inside Out 2” took the eighth spot, crossing the £58 million mark in its thirteenth week with an additional £228,526. The re-release of Fox’s “Star Wars: Episode III Revenge Of The Sith” claimed ninth place, adding £159,313 to its £39.4 million lifetime gross in its 1,008th week of release.

Rounding out the top 10, MetFilm Distribution’s “Firebrand” opened with £119,952.

Coming up, Thursday, Sept. 12th kicks off with Universal’s psychological horror “Speak No Evil,” starring James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy; and concert film “Usher: Rendezvous In Paris” from Trafalgar Releasing.

Friday the 13th brings a flood of new releases, led by Studiocanal’s “Lee,” headlined by Kate Winslet, and Naqqash Khalid’s acclaimed feature directorial debut “In Camera,” starring Nabhaan Rizwan and Amir El-Masry, from Conic. Peccadillo Pictures is opening Fawzia Mirza’s SXSW-winning comedy-drama “The Queen Of My Dreams,” while superhero enthusiasts get a chance to revisit “Spider-Man Far From Home” in a one-week re-release from Sony.

From Eclipse/Jade comes thriller “Reawakening,” while Lionsgate is opening drama “The Critic” starring
Gemma Arterton, Ian McKellen and Lesley Manville. Curzon is opening Iranian comedy-drama “My Favourite Cake,” which won two awards at the Berlinale earlier this year, while Kaleidoscope Entertainment is releasing Scottish thriller “Kill.”

K-pop fans can thrill to “RIIZE Fan-Con Tour ‘RIIZING DAY’ Finale in Cinemas,” offering fans a big-screen concert experience, and family audiences aren’t forgotten, with Miracle/Dazzler’s animated adventure “Boonie Bears: Time Twist.”

From India, Dreamz Entertainment brings Telugu-language crime comedy sequel “Mathu Vadalara 2.”
