EXCLUSIVE: Paramount/Skydance’s Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One is watching 6-7 million dollars in the previews so far, which is expected to be higher than last Thursday’s predictions Mission Impossible – Fallout in 2018, which reached 6 million dollars. This according to sources. The numbers we are seeing now could go higher or lower.

Dead Reckoning The previews started at 2pm today, however, I heard there were PLF fan shows on Monday and that a small portion of the dollars count towards the rating.

Dead Reckoning is one of the longest films of the summer with 2 hours and 43 minutes of credits. Not as long as Oppenheimer‘s 3 hours (opening on July 21), but more than Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2 hours and 34 minutes) and Flash (2 hours and 24 minutes). However, the action is unlike anything else Mission Impossible OR Fast and Furious the film has ever been shown before. Paramount is going for one Mission Impossible record five-day franchise here with a Wednesday start, which is smart given the length of this race and the limited amount of show time exhibitors can schedule. Disney did not launch on Wednesday Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyanother older film, which opens Friday and saw $60.3 million over the three days before July 4.

Best reviewed Mission Impossible of all time with a 98% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, Dead Reckoning projected to do $90 million five-day domestic, $250 million+ worldwide.

Last year, the decades-long-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick posted the best box office results of Cruise’s career with $19.3 million in US previews, a $126.7 million domestic opening and a $256.4 million WW opening. The pic finished with $718.7M domestic (#1 pic for 2023 domestic), $1.49B WW (#2 global for 2023 after Avatar: The Path of Water).

Mission: Impossible – Fallout it opened to $61.2 million domestically and went on to $220.1 million domestically and $791.6 million worldwide. Even if MISSION February comes this weekend, remember, Cruise movies are always loaded at the BO
