Amy Carlson, popularly known as Mother God, was a self-proclaimed spiritual saviour who formed a cult through her online manifestos and live-streaming sessions. Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God follows her life and death. As Amy’s condition deteriorated, her admirers believed her death would result in her evacuation by UFO and humanity’s deliverance. Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, the three-part docuseries highlights the pitfalls of internet proselytising and a conspiracy-driven faith as seen through the eyes of Amy’s adherents and recreated from the cult’s historical material.
The second installment of the documentary series Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God is on HBO and Max on Monday, November 20 at 9 p.m. ET. Episode 3, the final installment of the docu-series, will air at the same time on Monday, November 27.
