Manhunt Season 3 Release Date: Last week, ITV’s Manhunt returned with its second season, starring Martin Clunes as real-life detective Colin Sutton. The show, which was based on Sutton’s diaries, captivated viewers once again.
In the second season, Sutton went after South East London’s Night Stalker, Delroy Grant. From 1992 until he was caught in 2009, Grant repeatedly raped old women who lived alone.
Following four nights of airing on ITV, the captivating detective drama came to an end, leaving many fans wondering when they would see Martin Clunes play Sutton again.
We still don’t have an official date from ITV for when Manhunt will return, but Colin Sutton in real life says there is still more to explore. Find out what we know about season three of Manhunt below.
Will There Be a Third Season of Manhunt?
ITV hasn’t said for sure if Manhunt will be back for a second season, but earlier this year, Colin Sutton, whose memoirs sparked the drama, said that he was in talks about a possible second season.
Sutton replied, “There might be” when asked if he had any more cases that could be turned into TV shows. I wasn’t sure about this one after the first one. We’re talking about it and thinking about it, so I think there’s a chance.”
Ed Whitmore, who wrote the show, said that he was “100%” up for writing a third season, adding, “Absolutely.” There is a chance that we are talking about that right now, as Colin says.
Manhunt Season 3 Release Date
The true-crime detective drama Manhunt has not yet been given a return date because a third season has not been released. However, we have a good idea of when season three will come out.
Watch the first season of Manhunt in January 2019. The second season wasn’t ordered until November 2020, and it didn’t come out until September 2021, just under a year later.
Manhunt didn’t come back for a second season for more than two years. Hopefully, COVID-19 was one of the reasons for the delay, and we’ll see series three much sooner than 2023.
Until the premiere of Manhunt Season 3, there are lots of other shows to keep you occupied from the same genre. Barmageddon Season 3, Selling The OC Season 3, and many more come under this category.
Who Might Appear in a Potential Third Season of Manhunt?
Colin Sutton, the detective whose life and work were the inspiration for the drama, is an important part of Manhunt. If the show comes back, Martin Clunes will almost certainly be leading the group again.
Stephen Wight, who played Detective Constable Clive Grace in seasons 1 and 2, may also be back for season 3. Claudie Blakley, who plays Colin’s wife, Louise, is also expected to return.
As for the rest of the company, new actors will probably be added for series three, which will probably be about a brand-new case of Colin Sutton’s. Stay tuned for any news!
What Would Happen in a Possible Third Season?
If Martin Clunes comes back for another season of Manhunt, it will probably be about a totally different case from Sutton’s. This makes it hard to guess what season three will be about.
In the first season, Sutton looked into the murder of Amélie Delagrange, which led him to find the killers of Marsha McDonnell and Milly Dowler. In the second season, he went after serial rapist Delroy Grant.
Both of ITV’s previous shows were based on true events featuring real-life detective Colin Sutton. The third show will almost certainly be based on a different real case.
